When BMC engineers set about designing the Timemachine TM01 Frameset, they knew it had to be three things. It had to be aero. It had to ride well. And it had to fit great. They were also constrained by a fourth concern: it had to be UCI legal. With these directives they got to work. They developed the subA concept. SubA refers to maximizing aerodynamics by minimizing frontal area. They worked with the BMC racing team to find out what they needed to go fast and what they needed to make sure the bike handled well. The team helped iron out what geometry and ride feel cyclists are looking for. And to make sure the bike fit everyone on the team, they came up P2P, Position 2 Perform, a way to adjust the fit of the bike. And they met the UCI standards, save the largest frame in the run.
